Margaret Walker has been promoted to senior vice president, NBC brand strategy and audience growth, the company said Tuesday. In this expanded role, Walker will add oversight of brand strategy and consumer engagement for NBC’s entertainment shows to her current purview of digital audience acquisition and growth across the company’s network and cable networks including NBC, Bravo, E!, Oxygen, Syfy, Universal Kids and USA Network. Walker reports to Jennifer Storms, CMO, entertainment and sports and chair of the NBCUniversal Marketing Council.

Last year, Walker was elevated to senior vice president, audience acquisition and growth for the entertainment and sports divisions. In that role, she has spearheaded the growth of a digital ecosystem across broadcast and cable, driving longform viewership and content marketing.

Prior to that, Walker served as senior vice president, digital product and distribution marketing for NBCUniversal, where her responsibilities included oversight of operations for NBC.com and growing digital viewership and revenue across NBCU’s entertainment streaming apps. She led the rebuilding of NBCU’s marketing technology stack from the ground up and was instrumental in increasing digital audience growth and retention.

Walker began her career at NBCU in 2016 as vice president, digital product and distribution marketing and was promoted to oversee NBCU’s full suite of entertainment networks in 2019.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Walker was senior director of marketing at DirectTV, responsible for driving subscriber acquisition, enhancing customer lifetime value and executing the company’s multi-channel marketing strategy.

Walker is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and earned her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
