Los Angeles-based creative studio Makiné has retained Moccasin Management’s Laura Coones to help lead business development in the entertainment marketing space. There, the studio already has created integrated campaigns, promos and rebrands for such clients as Disney, Nuvo and Fuse along with social content for such brands as Amazon Music and T-Mobile.
“Laura not only knows the entertainment business inside and out, but she’s also a strong woman and kind human being—qualities that match perfectly with Makiné’s driving creative spirit and work practices,” said Maria Alejandra Padua, Makiné co-founder and executive producer in a statement. “We both understand that every single project, no matter the size, is a chance to prove your skills and to shine. Together, we can push our capabilities to the max and build a bigger footprint for Makiné in this insanely fun industry.”
“Makiné is an industry powerhouse that brings creativity and thoughtfulness to everything they do,” said Coones, also in a statement. Coones specializes in partnering agencies with TV networks, streaming services, film studios, and brands worldwide.
“I look forward to developing more opportunities for them in the entertainment space. And as the industry moves towards a more inclusive playing field, I’m excited to be a part of that change with Makiné being an independent, female-owned and minority-accredited company under the awesome leadership of Maria Alejandra,” she continued.
Launched in 2003, Makiné is a creative studio that specializes in advertising and marketing content for brands, media and entertainment companies. Led by Maria Alejandra Padua, the 100% Latina-owned and minority-certified company has garnered Cannes Lions, Clio, The One Show, D&AD, Webby, and Promax awards over its nearly 20 years in the business. Its client list includes Coca-Cola, BMW, Disney, Discovery, Toyota, T-Mobile, Amazon and P&G, among many others.
