Band of Horses’ Ben Bridwell collaborated with series composer Jeff Cardoni to create the theme song for Starz’ pro-wrestling drama Heels.

“As a southern kid who grew up watching wrestling and waiting after the matches to get autographs, I was thrilled and honored to be asked by Jeff Cardoni and Jonathon Leahy (music supervisor) to contribute to the Heels theme,” said Bridwell in a statement. “It really does feel like a dream indeed. I was stunned when they liked my rough demo, and then chose to use the final version. I’ve wanted to work more in television and film, and I am so grateful for the opportunity.”

The series stars Arrow’s Stephen Amell as Jack Spade and Vikings’ Alexander Ludwig as his younger brother, Ace. Jack is invested in trying to save the family business while Ace is wanting to move on as his star rises on the pro wrestling circuit.

The series also stars Alison Luff as Jack’s wife Staci, Mary McCormack as Jack’s business partner, Willie Day, Kelly Berglund as Ace’s valet and love interest, Allen Maldonado as wrestler Rooster Robbins, two-time Super Bowl champion James Harrison as Apocalypse and Chris Bauer as pro wrestling scout Wild Bill Hancock.

Heels is written and created by Executive Producer Michael Waldron, who is just coming off of Disney Plus’ Loki and wrote and produced Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Mike O’Malley also executive produces while Peter Segal directs and executive produces.

Along with Waldron, O’Malley, and Segal, LBI Entertainment’s Julie Yorn, Christopher Donnelly and Patrick Walmsley will also serve as executive producers. Heels is produced by Lionsgate TV for Starz in association with Paramount Television Studios.

Heels premieres Sunday, August 15 at 9 p.m. ET on Starz.
