AMC’s “Mad Men” returned last Sunday to 2.3 million viewers, a decrease of about 32 percent from the sixth season’s premiere. But with the help of Live+3 ratings, the drama had a boost of nearly 75 percent in certain key demos.
Season seven’s premiere episode was the Emmy-winning drama’s lowest-rated season debut in six years, falling in both the adult 18-49 and 25-54 demographics. But when DVR and delayed viewing comes into play, the episode’s ratings jumped to 3.7 million viewers, moving that number to only 15 percent below last season’s debut.
The AMC drama is currently the number-one season pass on iTunes and continues to reign supreme with affluent viewers, with a majority of its viewers earning more than $100,000 a year.
