For this main-title sequence for Google documentary Trillions of Questions, No Easy Answers, Elastic Creative Director Hazel Baird and her team merged classical media with 3D animation to illustrate the difficulty King Louis XIV had finding answers to coveted questions.
The sequence combined many pieces of classical art in various media—oil painting, bronze sculpture, line drawings—and then adds 3D animation to make the sequence feel dynamic and modern. The idea also serves to illuminate how technology has made it so easy to find information in matter of seconds, with just a quick browser search, rather than years of traveling over land and sea to bring home answers.
