Linnea Hemenez has joined premium cable network and streaming service Starz as senior vice president of international marketing as part of Starz’ international digital networks team. She reports directly to Superna Kalle, executive vice president of international digital networks.

In her new role, Hemenez, a Promax board member, will lead the international marketing efforts for Starz’ streaming service Starzplay, which is available in more than 56 countries. She will work across brand, content marketing, media, partner marketing, social and acquisition.

“I am excited to welcome Linnea to bring her expertise to our ever-expanding territory and partner portfolio,” said Kalle in a statement. “As we lean into strengthening our global brand presence in each country to scale Starzplay and drive subscription, Linnea’s keen understanding of branding, content, partners and digital strategy will be a key part of reaching success.”

Prior to joining Starz, Hemenez served as Spotify’s head of content marketing, where she oversaw global marketing and promotional strategy for podcasts, music and creators. She led her team in partnership with Grammy-winning pop star Billie Eilish to promote the singer-songwriter’s debut album in 20 countries for on-line, out-of-home media, as well as creating a physical pop-up for Spotify’s Billie Eilish Experience.

Before that, Hemenez co-led the consumer video vertical for Facebook’s internal creative agency managing creative development and production for the marketing and promotion of Facebook Watch originals, creators, gaming and core video product specific features.

In her former role as vice president, originals and content marketing at Hulu, Hemenez built and led all content marketing, social media, promotional and editorial efforts for Hulu’s original and licensed content – including originating and executing marketing campaigns for Hulu original and licensed content.

Hemenez earned a master’s degree in public art studies from the University of Southern California and a bachelor of arts in women’s studies from the University of California.
