A+E Networks’ female-focused network Lifetime shone a spotlight on its stars, creators, employees and more to celebrate Black History Month using two of its franchises, Her Take and Fierce Female Fridays.

In the above spot, Lifetime showcased some of its programming that tells stories drawn from Black history, including Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia, executive produced and starring Danielle Brooks (Netflix’s Orange is the New Black); The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel; Salt-N-Pepa; I Am Somebody’s Child; Betty and Coretta; and The Simone Biles Story: Courage to Soar.

Besides airing on-air spots, Lifetime also dedicated its Fierce Female Fridays social feeds all month long to women who exemplify #blackexcellence. On Feb. 5, Lifetime featured abolitionist Harriet Tubman; on Feb. 12, it was the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin; it dedicated Feb. 19 to the poet and writer Maya Angelou; and on February’s final Friday, it gave its feeds over to two women who changed the predominantly White sport of tennis forever: Serena and Venus Williams.

Below are two of the Her Take spots, featuring Brooks and Cheryl James of ground-breaking duo Salt-N-Pepa, as well as a spot that features A+E employees talking about what Black History Month and Black legacy means to them.
