Leo Macias has been named vice president, marketing and global activation at Amazon Prime Video, said Ukonwa Ojo, global chief marketing officer of Amazon Prime Video, on Wednesday.

In his new role, Macias will develop and lead Prime Video’s marketing and creative team in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to create and implement marketing campaigns that bring the Prime Video brand to life through content, storytelling and events.

Macias comes to Prime Video from Snap Inc. where he served as chief creative officer, launching games, original series and Snapchat’s user-generated content platform, Spotlight. While there, he led a global and multicultural creative team in partnership with such brands as Nike, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Uber, Disney, and Warner Bros.

Prior to that, Macias was chief creative officer at creative and branding agency Laundry Service & Cycle. There, he worked with such brands as Nike, Foot Locker, Ferrero Tic Tac, Belvedere, Amazon Music, Adobe, Dockers, Hydrow, Fossil, Hennessy and EWC.

Before that, Macias was chief creative officer at DDB in Colombia, where he helped grow the business 125%.

He also spent 20 years working in advertising agencies in Brazil including the Publicis Groupe, Talent Marcel and Publicis Brasil, among others.
