Kirsten Dunst takes on a multibillion-dollar pyramid scheme in Showtime’s new dark comedy, On Becoming a God in Central Florida.

The series’ first trailer introduces us to Krystal Stubbs (Dunst), a minimum-wage water park employee who lies, schemes and cons her way up the ranks of Founders American Merchandise (FAM)—the cultish organization that nearly left her family in ruins—to make a better life for herself and achieve the American Dream.

However, as she dives deeper into FAM and becomes tangled with its most loyal follower, her business begins to affect those closer to her, threatening all that she’s worked hard for.

In addition to the series’ trailer, Showtime released the key art that features Dunst sporting braces among a tropical background:

On Becoming a God in Central Florida was originally in development at AMC before being ordered straight to series by YouTube a year ago. Showtime picked up the series in turnaround last month.

“We were immediately drawn to this stylish and subversive female empowerment story starring Kirsten Dunst as you’ve never seen her before,” said Showtime Networks’ president of entertainment, Gary Levine. “Throw in clever writing, inventive filmmaking, a strong, diverse ensemble and some alligators, and we’re confident Showtime audiences will find On Becoming A God irresistible!”
