SyFy revealed a new opening title sequence for season two of Killjoys featuring a comic book-style animation.

Created by Toronto’s Cuppa Coffee Studios, the 34-second opening uses a Wedha Pop Art Portrait technique.

Creative Director Chris Morris told Space he tried to showcase the jewel-toned color palette of the show and the strong personalities of the main characters in an unexpected way. The project took about two months to complete.

From Orphan Black’s Temple Street Productions and Michelle Lovretta (Lost Girl), Killjoys follows a fun-loving, hard living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war, according to a description from SyFy.

The series stars Hannah John-Kamen, Aaron Ashmore, and Luke Macfarlane, and returns to SyFy on July 1.
