“I think about you all the time,” says Sandra Oh—referring to serial killer Villanelle (Jodie Comer) whom she faces off against in Killing Eve, as well as the fans who helped make the cat-and-mouse thriller a success.
BBC America’s brand spot “Thank You” features the stars giving a shout out to the many viewers who contributed to the show’s growing audience in every single episode throughout the season.
“Killing Eve was a word-of-mouth ratings hit for BBC America,” the network said.
Throughout the course of the campaign, as the fan base grew and become more and more engaged, BBC America developed a creative vernacular of talking directly to viewers, such as before the finale asking them in promos about their favorite moments, and reminding them of amazing scenes.
“So naturally, after the finale, we continued in this vein, thanking them directly and amplifying their fantastic art, videos and tweets,” BBC America said.
The viewer feedback and social media highlighted in the spot is a testament to that engagement, and the network plans to build on that momentum:
“We’ll continue to engage them and grow their obsession as we work toward season two.”
