Go behind the scenes of WGN America’s latest original series, Underground, with executive producer and Oscar-winner John Legend as well as composers Laura Karpman and Raphael Saadiq.
Executive produced by Legend, Misha Green and Joe Pokaski, Underground is a 10-episode series that follows blacksmith Noah (Aldis Hodge) as he covertly organizes a small group of fellow slaves to devise a daring escape plan.

Also starring are Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Christopher Meloni, Alano Miller, Jessica de Gout, Marc Blucas, Adina Porter, Mykelt Williamson, Amirah Vann, Johnny Ray Gill, Chris Chalk, Reed Diamond, Theodus Crane, Renwick Scott and Jussie Smollett.

Other executive producers are Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend) of Weed Road Pictures as well as Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures. Joining Legend are his partners from Get Lifted Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius, which oversees all of the show’s music. Anthony Hemingway (The Wire, Treme) directs and serves as executive producer for the show’s first four episodes.

Underground premieres on WGN America on Wednesday, March 9, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The show’s key art is below:
