Joe Nichols is joining Northern Lights where he will launch and lead the entertainment marketing agency’s Los Angeles office as executive creative director. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing streaming and broadcast work on both the East and West Coast. Upcoming projects include work for Amazon Prime Originals, ABC, Syfy, Travel Channel, truTV and Nickelodeon.

“At Northern Lights, my focus will be on producing strategic series launches and brand campaigns that are cinematic, highly conceptual and deliver viewers across multiple platforms,” said Nichols in a statement. “The extensive production and post resources of Northern Lights will be ideal to deliver the best possible experience to our clients.”

Nichols comes from Amazon Prime Video where he was creative director of global brand marketing. While at Amazon, he launched more than twenty original series including Hanna, Sneaky Pete, Transparent, Goliath, Bosch, and multiple seasons of The Man in the High Castle.

Nichols’ work has earned a Cannes Lion, two Clio Grand Awards and many Promax Gold Awards. He also has served as a Promax speaker and a Promax Pathways Mentor.

Northern Lights partners with in-house agencies Mr Wonderful for branding and design, SuperExploder for composing, sound design and audio post, and Bodega for production.
