After a pandemic-induced delay, the third and final season of Netflix’s dark comedy Dead to Me returns.
In season three, Jen (Christina Applegate) and Judy (Linda Cardellini) are still trying to avoid the law – but not the wine – as the FBI takes over Steve’s case (James Marsden, who also plays Ben).
Jen and Judy also discuss what their criminal names should be, with Judy naming herself the not-so-original Judy Five Fingers and Jen realizing, “oh shit, I’m Bitch Cassidy.” (Editor’s note: So am I.)

Ahead of the season, Applegate has talked about how her recent multiple sclerosis diagnosis factored into the series’ production and how physically difficult it was for her.
“This is the first time anyone’s going to see me the way I am,” Applegate told The New York Times in an interview published on Tuesday, November 1. “I put on 40 pounds; I can’t walk without a cane. I want people to know that I am very aware of all of that.”
Besides Applegate, Cardellini and Marsden, the series also stars Diana Maria Riva as Detective Perez; Natalie Morales (Parks and Recreation) as Judy’s girlfriend, Michelle Gutierrez; and Marc Evan Jackson (Parks and Recreation, The Good Place) as Jen’s former neighbor, Jeff.
Dead to Me is from Emmy-winning creator Liz Feldman. Executive producers include Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Jessica Elbaum from Gloria Sanchez Productions.
