Don’t miss Langlois’s session at this year’s conference: “Brand/ReBrand Highlights from 2012-2013: VTM and Mongol TV.”

Name: Christian Langlois

Title: Creative Director and Commercial Film Director, Memoire Liquide

Could you summarize your session in 5 words? Show the legacy and design the future of television in Mongolia.

What other speaker are you most interested in seeing at PromaxBDA: The Conference this year? Brian Grazer, Kevin Vitale from IFC for the cause, Jenny Wall from Netflix for the next step in TV, Dan Pappalardo, Larry Flynt for the fun and a few others.

How do you watch television content? Via my AppleTV in my living room on HD TV or my iPad in my bed, at the café or in VOD in international flights. Big thanks to iTunes, Netflix, Vimeo, YouTube, Vice Media… Without you, no “Luther,” “Hit and Miss,” TED conferences, or “Breaking Bad” and “House of Cards.”

What is your greatest creative achievement so far? It’s a weird, viral advertising sticky shamelessly did last year for OB TAMPONS. Johnson & Johnson has 47 million views on the web. We have also won over 20 creative awards: Cannes Lion, Clio, LIA, Webby Awards, Bessies, CMA, TED.

For me the new Mongol TV identity was one of the most complete and creative brand project that I did. It’s more than a TV branding. It’s a very special rendez-vous, a historic moment, a contact with very unique Asian world, a top and hostile location film shoot and a great collaboration: client, producer, team. It’s my mission Apollo.

How do you stay inspired? Nature, travel, people, great artists, contemporary art and dance, new media, books, creative websites and digital interfaces, design, graphic design and fashion.

How did you get your start in this industry? As a video artist I founded a visual creative department at MusiquePlus (French Canadian answer to MTV).
