Cathy Hetzel, SVP of marketing at science, speaks about her upcoming session, her career and her advice to industry up-and-comers. Could you summarize your session in 5 words? Precisely Measuring Movies and TV Everywhere.

What other speaker are you most interested in seeing at PromaxBDA: The Conference this year? The Shift: Exploring New Demographics, Audiences and Mindsets with Jacqueline Hernández.

How do you watch television content? TV in my living room, iPad on airplanes.

What do you think is the most important trait of a leader? A strong vision and the willingness to see it through. The leader who believes in the mission and works toward it will be an inspiration and a resource to their team.

What is your greatest career achievement so far? Launching Rentrak’s OnDemand Essentials service because we saw the vision of a television on demand world and the importance of a census based currency in an increasing fragmentation long before they materialized.

What one piece of advice would you give to an up-and-comer in this industry? Don’t be afraid to take risks or to fail, just fail fast, learn from your mistakes and move on!

How did you get your start in this industry? Typing sales territory lists at night for Cox Cable San Diego while in school. I didn’t know how to type so my boss said he either had to fire me or promote me, luckily he chose the latter.
