On Thursday at a special 2013 Station Summit luncheon in Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood, a deserving group of industry luminaries were honored with this year’s PromaxBDALocal Awards.

“One thing that’s hot in Vegas besides the weather is the talent in this room,” said Awards host Rachel Smith of Fox5’s “More” and “More Access.”

Gold honors were distributed across a broad array of categories. Among many, News13 at 10 on Fox23 was honored for Funniest Promo for its “Sleep More (Car)” spot, while WRAL-TV’s “6,149 Days [Official Trailer]” took gold in Editing.

Other winners included WOAI-TV’s “@630 Telenovela” promo, in the category of Stunt Promotion: On-Air Only; Bell Media Agency’s “CTV BC – Best Place,” in Program Promotional Spot; and KXAN took gold in the category of Work Never Seen, for its “One Week.

The 2013 Just Cause Awards were also distributed, recognizing local media leaders for cause marketing initiatives as well as broadcasters’ prosocial commitments to their communities. This year’s winners included Waterman Broadcasting for its NBC2 Giving Tree campaign, WJBF and WAGT for their Save The Augusta Warrior Project campaign, and CW50 (WKBD-TV) for its “Stand Up for Someone” campaign.

“[These] awards are a way to say thank you for the work you do,” said Smith.
