People will continue to add hash tags wherever there is a keyboard anyway, so Facebook has given in and added clickable hash tags to Facebook pages.

This connects the two social networks in a new way, but also puts them in direct competitions with each other for clicks and ad dollars. While they are not sponsored yet in the same vein as a promoted tweet, when a Facebook user clicks on a hash tag, a new page appears to show them their Facebook friends/“liked” brands using the same hash tag.
