IFC’s opening credits to its new series, “Garfunkel and Oates,” is true to the singing duo’s form - uplifting performances of songs (complete with ukelele) with a joke or vague reference hidden inside (the song ends with the message: “Don’t stop being cool!”)

Taking their name from singing duos Simon & Garfunkel and Hall & Oates, Garfunkel and Oates is made up of comedians Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci. IFC’s new scripted series starring the pair will pick up where their HBO Web series left off, following the two performers onstage and off.

“Garfunkel and Oates” is set to premiere Aug. 7 on IFC. Check out one of their songs below:
