We’re still in the heat of fall premiere season, with Fox’s Grandfathered and The Grinder and CBS’ Code Black all opening in week two. Fox’s Empire remains the belle of the ball, by far the top-rated scripted show on television right now.

But someone else made his debut this week as well, and that was Trevor Noah as the new host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

Noah’s debut actually seemed to surprise viewers with how much the show still felt like the old Daily Show they know and love, and its ratings remained essentially on par with what the show had been doing with Jon Stewart in the host chair.

Behind the scenes, there were some top-executive moves with:

Steve Mosko being promoted to chairman of Sony Pictures Television,

and Discovery’s Sean Atkins named president of MTV Networks.

We also gave you not one but two Brand/Rebrands this week, featuring:

CMT Canada, which is focusing on uncommon stories about common people,

and Fuse and FM, whose new look is stark, simple and eye-catching.

As always, we leave you with one of the week’s favorite Hot Spots. This week, we loved Juniper Jones take on classic films for Turner Classic Movies. See if you know each of the movies they are representing here:
