At the end of a short week, there’s not tons to catch you up on. But in case you never really checked back in after last week’s long weekend, here are a few things you might have missed.

Probably the week’s biggest media story was the news that broke as soon as we got back to our desks on Tuesday morning that Media General is buying Meredith for $2.4 billion.

Sticking with stories from the business beat, 21st Century Fox invested an additional $725 million in National Geographic Society, suddenly turning National Geographic Magazine into a for-profit venture.

Comedy Central announced that it would be developing original content for Snapchat, which offers very short-form content to viewers.

Oh yeah, and some guy named Stephen Colbert finally made his late-night debut as host of CBS’ The Late Show.

Finally, here’s one of our favorite Hot Spots to take you through the weekend, courtesy of Frame, AD Sports TV and Les Folies Design Haus.
