“It doesn’t feel like change … it feels like the beginning of the end” in Hulu’s trailer for season three of The Path.

The series follows a family at the center of a controversial cult movement as they struggle with relationships, faith and power. Each episode takes an in-depth look at the gravitational pull of belief and what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want.

When the 13-episode season returns, a miracle by Eddie Lane (Aaron Paul) has gone viral, and Meyerism has grown exponentially across the world. As the new Guardian of the Light, Eddie is forced to face the question of whether he can grow the movement without becoming a cult leader.

Meanwhile Cal (Hugh Dancy) is haunted by dark demons from the past and must come face to face with them in order to defeat them. Sarah (Michelle Monaghan) questions her faith and in looking outside the movement for answers, she may discover one of Meyerism’s deepest secrets, and the one person who could put an end to it all.

The series also stars Kyle Allen, Emma Greenwell and Freida Pinto.

It is created and executive produced by Jessica Goldberg, executive produced by Jason Katims and Michelle Lee, and comes to Hulu from Universal Television and True Jack Productions.

The Path will premiere with the first two episodes launching January 17 on Hulu.
