Hulu is close to naming Mike Hopkins, former Fox executive, as its new CEO, according to a report from Bloomberg today.

Hopkins, who was previously president of distribution for Fox Networks, was reportedly chosen because of his experience negotiating with pay-TV services. He would replace the acting Hulu CEO, Andy Forssell.

The new appointment could help with Hulu’s goal to become a competitor in the TV industry, with original series and access to pay-TV content.
