London-based Huge Designs turns a clock face into a trip to far-flung lands in the main titles for Around the World in 80 Days, starring David Tennant as explorer Phileas Fogg. The series is based on the classic novel by Jules Vernes.

The series also stars French actor Ibrahim Koma as Jean Passepartour, Fogg’s valet, and German actress Leonie Benesch as journalist Abigail “Fix” Fortescue.

Around the World in 80 Days, which airs on PBS in the United States, is a co-production of European public broadcasters France Télévisions, Germany’s ZDF and Italy’s RAI with additional partners Masterpiece in the United States and Be-Films/RTBF in Belgium.

The eight-episode first season first premiered on Belgium’s La Une on December 5, 2021, followed by Germany’s ZDF on December 11, France 2 on December 20, and the UK’s BBC One on December 26. It debuted on Masterpiece for PBS in the U.S. on January 2, 2022. It’s already been renewed for a second season.
