Storied magazine The New Yorker has wisely started working to adapt its compelling, in-depth content across platforms. A few months ago, the magazine launched a produced podcast to join its flight of more casual, conversational pods. On Tuesday, Feb. 16, Amazon will debut new series The New Yorker Presents, with two new episodes premiering each week.
The series combines documentaries, short-scripted narrative films, comedy, poetry, animation and of course, The New Yorker’s famous obscure cartoons, drawn right from the magazine’s pages.
The New Yorker Presents is executive produced by New Yorker Editor-in-Chief David Remnick and documentary producer Alex Gibney (HBO’s Going Clear), Kahane Cooperman, Dave Snyder, Michael Klein, Dawn Ostroff and Henry Finder. Each season, the series will feature content from award-winning narrative directors as well as A-list talent from the worlds of film, television, art and music. Condé Nast Entertainment and Jigsaw Productions are producers.
