Stranger Things 3 brought fans to tears after the apparent death of beloved sheriff Jim Hopper (David Harbour) in the season finale, which also saw Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) pack up her kids Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) and Will (Noah Schnapp) and Hopper’s adopted, telekinetic daughter Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and move to another town.
Hopper’s body was never recovered, and now fans know why.
Netflix on Friday released the first teaser for season four of the supernatural sci-fi series, which shows a group of men toiling away on a railroad track before Hopper—with a freshly shaved head and a much thinner frame—appears on screen.
“Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other,” creators and showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer said in a statement. “Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long-buried, something that connects everything…”

Netflix in September confirmed the show’s fourth season, which is currently in production.
“Season four is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime — pray for the American,” the Duffer Brothers added.
