History will once again launch Car Week with three-hour live television event Evel Live 2.
In the special, freestyle motocross athlete Axell Hodges and four-time X Games medalist Vicki Golden will attempt to set new world records with epic motorcycle stunts.
Motorsports icon Travis Pastrana will co-host with Matt Iseman live from the San Bernadino International Airport.
The above spot uses bold and clear graphics to tell the story of what Hodges, specifically, is trying to do. First, he will try to beat Evel Knievel’s son Robbie’s feat by jumping over more than 25 semi-trucks, a distance of more than 200 feet. Then, he will try to break Robbie Maddison’s 2011 distance record and surpass 378 feet and nine inches.
To do this, he will wear a specially designed Alpinestars suit and ride a fully customized Kawasaki KX450F.
Prior to that, Golden will try to ride through more than 12 flaming wooden boards, breaking the current world record that was set in 2006. Golden will ride an Indian FTR 1200 S.
Evel Live 2 is produced by Nitro Circus. Trip Taylor, Dave Mateus, and Andy Edwards are executive producers for Nitro Circus Media Productions. Zachary Behr, Mary E. Donahue and Eli Lehrer are executive producers for History.
EveL 2 Live kicks off History’s Car Week on Sunday, July 7.
