A+E Networks and the History Channel are continuing their collaboration with Rocket Mortgage with a multi-platform campaign spotlighting Built for Zero, an organization that aims to alleviate veteran homelessness. spanning linear, digital and social platforms.
The first of these vignettes, which premiere on Memorial Day, features Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour, the first African-American female combat pilot, narrating a spot about Built For Zero’s efforts in Fremont County, Colorado, a community that’s making progress toward meeting the housing needs of vets. Once the spot premieres, it will run across History.com and its associated social platforms.
The custom vignette was produced by women-led Brooklyn-based production company The Light and directed by a female U.S. Air Force veteran.
“We’re pleased to again collaborate with Rocket Mortgage to help amplify Built For Zero’s impact in communities across the country as they work to combat Veteran homelessness,” said David DeSocio, EVP advertising sales marketing and partnerships, A+E Networks. “Supporting our Veterans is a longtime tenet of The History Channel and our corporate outreach program, and with the help of Vernice, we’re honored to continue to tell their stories.”
Built For Zero is a national initiative of more than 80 cities and counties across the country working to measurably end homelessness, led by the nonprofit Community Solutions. By working on the ground in local communities, Built For Zero aims to reach functional zero, which means that fewer veterans are experiencing homelessness than can be housed in a month.
The Built for Zero campaign also will air during other U.S. holidays that recognize veterans: Independence Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day.
A+E Networks and History have a long-term, deep commitment to supporting Veterans through corporate initiatives such as Take a Veteran to School and Honor a Vet.
