Viacom Music and Entertainment Group boss Doug Herzog, Grammy-nominated comedian Tig Notaro, and prolific book cover designer Chip Kidd will keynote PromaxBDA: The Conference 2015, the association said Tuesday.

The trio are the first three speakers to be announced for the annual gathering of the global entertainment marketing industry, set for June 9-11 at the JW Marriott at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

Herzog oversees a number of Viacom domestic cable brands, including MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Spike and Logo. He was named to his current role in February.

He got his start on the frontlines of the cable revolution in the early 1980s, rising from an associate producer at the newly-formed CNN to EVP of programming at MTV and president of MTV Productions—where he developed and launched Unplugged, The Real World and Road Rules— among other franchises. He has served as president of USA Network, entertainment president at Fox Broadcasting and president of Comedy Central. He was named president of the then-Viacom Entertainment Group when it was formed in 2006. On his watch, Viacom has seen a number of fan-favorite series hit the marketplace, including The Daily Show, South Park, The Colbert Report and Broad City.

Notaro made headlines in August 2012 with a half-hour set at L.A.’s Largo club that broke new ground in standup comedy.

“Thank you, thank you, I have cancer, thank you, I have cancer, really, thank you,” she told the audience that night, summing up the latest bad news she had received in a year that also included her mother’s death, and a particularly bad breakup.

Notaro’s set that night has since been called “instantly legendary,” “seminal,” and “amazing,” and she counts Louis C.K. and Lena Dunham among her fans.

Her upcoming special Knock Knock, It’s Tig Notaro airs on Showtime April 17. HBO has also announced a taping of a comedy special with Notaro later this year.

Chip Kidd is an award-winning graphic designer whose pocket designs for publisher Alfred A. Knopf have been among the most recognized in the industry for the past three decades.

He’s worked with hundreds of writers, including John Updike, Cormac McCarthy, James Ellroy and Michael Crichton. His most recent book, Go: A Kidd’s Guide to Graphic Design, is the first book to teach graphic design to children and has over 60,000 copies in print.

As an editor and art director for Pantheon Graphic novels, he’s worked with and published some of the very best cartoonists in the world, including Chris Ware, Art Spiegelman, Dan Clowes, David Mazzucchelli, Charles Burns, Michael Cho and Alex Ross. He is the recipient of the National Design Award for Communications.

Further keynote speaker announcements are expected soon.
