The Righteous Gemstones return with more divine inspiration—not to mention deviance, depravity and greed—when season two kicks off with two back-to-back episodes on Sunday, January 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The Righteous Gemstones will also be available to stream on HBO Max.

The series stars John Goodman as the patriarch of a family of televangelists. Danny McBride, who created the series and also writes and executive produces, stars as oldest son Jesse, who has set his sights on taking over the family religious empire, with his wife, the always scheming Amber (Cassidy Freeman), at his side. Meanwhile, daughter Judy (Edi Patterson) and second son Kelvin (Adam Devine) aren’t interested in just ceding the family business to Jesse.

The Righteous Gemstones also stars Tony Cavalero as Keefe Chambers, Tim Baltz as BJ, Skyler Gisondo as Gideon Gemstone and Greg Alan Williams as Martin Imari. Returning recurring cast includes Walton Gogglins as Baby Billy Freeman, Jennifer Nettles as the family’s deceased matriarch, Aimee-Leigh Gemstone, Jody HIll as Levi, Valyn Hall as Tiffany Freeman, Kelton DuMont as Pontious Gemstone and Gavin Munn as Abraham Gemstone. New recurring cast additions this season include Jason Schwartzman as Thaniel Bock, Eric Roberts as Junior, Eric Andre as Lyle Lissons and Jessica Low as Lindy Lissons.

McBride created, wrote, directed and executive produced season two of The Righteous Gemstones, as well as starred. McBride’s producing partners Jody Hill and David Gordon Green also executive produced, as well as John Carcieri, Jeff Fradley and Brandon James. Jonathan Watson co-executive produces. David Brightbill produces. Consulting producers are Grant Dekernion, Kevin Barnett, Edi Patterson and Chris Pappas.
