Networks frequently partner with agencies to do their promotional work, but not always.
In the case of the above trailer for episode five of season two of Westworld, HBO writer and producer Chanel Vann cut the spot in-house, successfully telling enough of the story within the larger, endlessly mysterious story to keep fans glued to their screens. Fans were particularly excited about this spot because it gave the longest look yet of the new park set in Japan: Shogun World.
Here are some other examples of HBO’s in-house work on the sprawling drama, with promos created by Sarah Yuro and Vanessa Brothers:
In the Weeks Ahead
Episode 3, “Survival”
Episode 4, “The Riddle of the Sphinx”
