In a promotion almost as excruciatingly slow as the wait for the show itself, HBO revealed the season-seven premiere date for its global hit, Game of Thrones, on Facebook Live.

Fans waited not-so-patiently for 69 minutes, through live feeds that crashed twice, to watch flamethrowers melt a giant block of ice with the date concealed inside. The concept is a play on the series’ tagline: A Song of Ice and Fire.

Finally, after thousands of commenters entered the word “fire” into the comments, the date was revealed: 7-16-17.

Viewers were rewarded with the first new trailer for the season, above, although it included no new footage.

At the end of the trailer released Thursday, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) perhaps sums up both the season and the show: “There’s only one war that matters. The Great War. And it is here.”

HBO also released a teaser poster on Thursday:

Game of Thrones returns to HBO for its seventh season on Sunday, July 16, 2017.
