Recently installed 20th Century Fox film chair and CEO Stacey Snider named HBO Chief Marketing Officer Pam Levine to president of worldwide theatrical marketing.

Levine will report directly to Snider, who replaced longtime CEO and chairman Jim Gianopulos. This is Snider’s first major hire for the company, and is seen as part of her desire to assemble her own team.

Starting October 5, Levine will oversee all of the studio’s marketing efforts, both domestic and international. The role is also full circle for Levine. Before moving to HBO in 2011, she worked for 16 years at Fox as co-president of domestic theatrical marketing, leading marketing campaigns for more than 140 films, including box office hit Avatar.

She fills a void left by the September 1 departure of Paul Hanneman, worldwide president of marketing and distribution.

“It’s rare that you get the opportunity to hire an accomplished executive who also knows the culture and inner workings of your own studio,” Snider said in a statement. “We get all that and more with Pam, whose appointment reflects the importance of synergies between the studio’s domestic and international marketing divisions to manage our films across their entire worldwide runs.”

Levine said she’s also excited to return to Fox.

“I’m thrilled to be rejoining so many talented friends and colleagues at a place that still feels like home,” she said in a statement. “It’s an exciting and pivotal moment for the company, and I’m inspired by the opportunity to help guide it during this new chapter under Stacey’s leadership.”

At HBO, Levine led the consumer marketing efforts, including program and brand advertising; on-air and off-channel creative advertising; social, mobile and digital marketing; multicultural marketing; retail and licensing; and strategy across all digital platforms. Shows she worked on include Game of Thrones, Veep, True Detective, Silicon Valley and most recently The Night Of.

She was also instrumental in the launch of digital streaming service HBO NOW, according to Fox.
