Hallmark Channel is amping up its already considerable commitment to Christmas with an 8,000 square foot “Museum of Christmas,” opening in New York City Nov. 15 - 19.
“While millions tune-in to Hallmark Channel every year for our signature ‘Countdown to Christmas’ programming, we are always exploring new ways to engage viewers around the holidays beyond the on-air experience,” said Susanne McAvoy, executive vice president of marketing, creative and communications for Crown Media Family Networks, in a statement. “From candy canes and ornaments to snowballs and stockings, the Museum of Christmas evokes the joy of the season and provides visitors with a unique, interactive experience.”
For the four-day event, the 8,413 square-foot installation will display “peppermint” tire swings, Santa’s sleigh in front of a wall of live evergreen branches, an “infinity” room of Christmas lights, a non-freezing snowball pit, giant ornaments, life-size Christmas stockings, a walk-in snow globe that attendees can hang out in and an enormous pile of gifts.
All of it is selfie-ready for attendees.
The Museum of Christmas will be located at 459 W. 14th Street in New York City.
