Hailee Steinfeld is a poet ahead of her time in Apple TV+’s upcoming coming-of-age series, Dickinson.
Apple unveiled the newest spot, dubbed “Immortality,” ahead of the series’ Nov. 1 launch. Set to Dope Saint Jude’s “Grrrl Like,” the trailer shows the titular poet striving to build a killer legacy despite the constraints of society, gender, and family.
“I think they’re scared that if they teach us how the world works, we’ll figure out how to take over,” the rebellious poet tells Sue Gilbert (Ella Hunt), a girl whom she shares a budding, hidden romance with.
In a previous trailer for the show, Steinfeld premiered her new song “Afterlife” with lyrics inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poetry.
