A study from SNL Kagan reveals that Comcast Cable remains the world’s No.1 pay-TV platform with approximately 22 million customers at the end of 2012.
The study reported that there are 106 pay-TV platforms around the globe with at least 2 million video customers or at least 1 million broadband customers, and at least half of those are located across China, India and the US.
Dish TV leads the pack in Asia, with 14.7 million customers, and BSkyB lords over Europe with 9.6 million subscribers.

Brief Take: Comcast wins this round but it may not win the next. Comcast’s video subscribers have declined nearly 10% since 2008, and the company just edged China’s Jiangsu Broadcasting Cable Information Network by about 1 million subs to retain its title.
