In season five of FX’s vampire comedy What We Do in the Shadows, the gang’s familiar and stealth vampire hunter Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) may finally get what he’s longed for and become a vampire. Although his current situation isn’t making a strong case for it.

Meanwhile, Nandor (Kayvan Novak) feels distressed as Guillermo, also known as “Gizmo,” spends more time with Laszlo (Matt Berry), who is exercising all of his gentlemen scientist skills (read: not many) to try to figure out what’s up with their friend.

Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), suffering from the effects of a supernatural hex, tries to reconnect with her family – or at least, a family – from the Old Country. Colin (Mark Proksch) pursues the path of so many energy vampires before him and goes into politics. And The Guide (Kristen Schaal), a mostly annoying vampire bureaucrat acquaintance, tries to get closer to the group of roommates living in Staten Island.

What We Do in the Shadows is based on the feature film by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, who executive produce. The show is also executive produced by Paul Simms, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch and Eli Bush. It’s produced by FX Productions.

What We Do in the Shadows returns to FX and Hulu on Thursday, July 13.
