Atlanta-based Gray Television, owner of local stations in 31 markets, unveiled a new logo and website today that CEO Hilton Howell says more accurately reflects their identity as a “progressive company” improving local communities.

The new multi-colored G is meant to represent a camera lens, says Howell.

“Like a television camera lens, Gray is transparent to the public eye but plays a key role in capturing the important moments in life. Accordingly, Gray adopted an iconic logo that represents the ‘Gray lens’ through which millions of people across the country see the world.,” the company said in a statement.

Atlanta-based Gray owns 46 channels affiliated with one of the Big Four broadcast networks, as well as an additional 42 channels of programming.
