Gotham City’s most trusted name in news is now available online.
With the start of Comic-Con this week in San Diego, Fox has launched a new website for the fictional Gotham Chronicle as part of its huge marketing push for upcoming Batman prequel “Gotham.”
The site and accompanying launch video paint an image of a Gotham City riddled with crime and corruption. The stories tease future plot points involving Catwoman, the Riddler, Penguin, and Detective Gordon with headlines like “Rumors of Mob War Swirl” and “Feral Cat Population Out of Control.”

The video also introduces a new #TakeGothamBack hashtag to further underscore the feeling out pervasive lawlessness that underpins this origin story.
Fox is expected to hand out print copies of the Chronicle to visitors at Comic-Con in San Diego. The banner headline: “Waynes Shot Dead in Alley.” The Waynes, of course, are the parents of young Bruce Wayne, who will use the trauma of his parent’s murder to transform himself—eventually—into the crime-fighting Batman.
But that’s a story for another series.
“Gotham” premieres on Fox on Sept. 22.
