Gilbert Avila has joined Los Angeles-based creative agency Vivid Zero as executive creative director, said founder and chief creative officer Michael Vamosy.
“We are thrilled Gilbert has joined Vivid Zero. We’ve worked together before and his experience and talents will bolster our collaborative team and contribute greatly to the success of our clients and partners,” said Vamosy in a statement. “In the past, we’ve worked together on many large-scale projects and design systems, including three Hulu upfronts and campaigns for CNN, as well as a current structural redesign and modernization effort for a massive media news organization.”
The addition of Avila adds to Vivid Zero’s growing team, as the SmithGeiger-backed agency grows its client base to include Showtime PPV Boxing, ABC News, ABC OTV, BNC, CNN, Peacock, Headspace and PUBG, as well as take on new ventures with entertainment, sports, eSports and consumer brand clients.
“I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Michael and this talented crew” said Avila, also in a statement. “Some of the most successful campaigns and projects I’ve ever worked on, we worked on together. I love the new agency model built on data-driven creative with our partners at SmithGeiger. It’s a great combination and it really seems like the right time for an agency like this. I’ve worked with the SmithGeiger team in the past and I love their approach.”
Gilbert, a Los Angeles native, graduated from Cal Arts with a bachelor of arts in graphic design. He has worked for such agencies as Prologue, Stardust, Charlie Co, Buster, and Stun/Known.
