“Chozen” is an ambitious gay white rapper, just out of prison. He stars in a new animated series coming to FX Jan. 13, and to celebrate its debut, the network has partnered with barbershops around the country for a “Chozen” Barbershop Takeover.
The stunt will take place on Saturday, Jan. 11, giving away free haircuts to the first 20 customers along with photo ops and giveaways. Participating cities are New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Washington D.C., Atlanta and Detroit.
“Chozen” featuring the voices of Bobby Moynihan, Michael Peña, Hannibal Buress, Nick Swardson and Method Man, premieres on FX Jan. 13.
Brief Take: Similar to the style promotion of “Archer,” the barbershop takeover is a smart way to reach the new series’ intended audience (young males) in a cohesive, branded way.
