Finger snaps, drum beats and quick cuts of dance moves make up FX’s teaser for Fosse/Verdon, which explores the relationship between one of theater’s most influential filmmakers and choreographers Bob Fosse (Sam Rockwell) and renown Broadway dancer Gwen Verdon (Michelle Williams).

“He was a visionary. She made him a star,” FX says of the limited series. “Only Bob can create the groundbreaking musicals that allow Gwen to showcase her greatness. Only Gwen can realize the unique vision in Bob’s head. Together, they will change the face of American entertainment – at a perilous cost.”

The eight-episode series focuses on the love they shared, the art they created, and the price they paid in the pursuit of greatness over five decades. It also stars Norbert Leo Butz as Paddy Chayefsky and Margaret Qualley as Ann Reinking.

Fosse/Verdon is from producers Thomas Kail, Steven Levenson, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Joel Fields. Co-producer Andy Blankenbuehler serves as choreographer along with Susan Misner. Alex Lacamoire is supervising music producer and Erica Kay as producer.

Actress, dancer and producer Nicole Fosse – the daughter of Fosse and Verdon – serves as co-executive producer and oversees The Verdon Fosse Legacy.

Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions, Fosse/Verdon will premiere on FX in April.
