After buying English football club Wrexham Red Dragons in 2020, Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) have realized that Wrexham is more than just a football club, it’s an entire community. The two document their exploits and adventures in their FX docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham.

“I look at Wrexham as the most special gift I’ve ever had in my life,” Reynolds says in the season-two trailer.

Season two continues to track Wrexham as it fights for promotion out of the National League and back into the English Football League. Team staff and supporters hold on to the dream of returning the team – and the Northern Welsh town where it’s based – to its former glory while dealing with the new-found challenges that fame has brought.

Welcome to Wrexham is executive produced by McElhenney, Reynolds, Josh Drisko, Bryan Rowland, Jeff Luini, Nick Frenkel, George Dewey and Boardwalk Pictures’ Andrew Fried, Alan Bloom, Dane Lillegard, Sarina Roma and Jordan Wynn. The series is produced by Boardwalk Pictures.

The Emmy-nominated docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham, returns for season two on Tuesday, September 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX. It will start streaming the next day on Hulu and be available exclusively on Disney Plus in the UK and Ireland on September 13. It will be available on Star Plus in Latin America and on Disney Plus in all other territories at a later date.
