FreemantleMedia North America tapped Christine Shaw Thursday to be its new SVP of communications and marketing, effective immediately.
Shaw, formerly BBC Worldwide’s vice president of communications, reports to COO Lee Rierson. She will head up marketing and publicity efforts for Freemantle’s marquis TV properties in North America, including “The X Factor,” “American Idol,” “America’s Got Talent,” “Family Feud,” and “The Price is Right.”

At BBC Worldwide, Shaw oversaw corporate communications, as well as publicity and marketing strategies for their production arm, and digital entertainment and games divisions.
Before joining BBC Worldwide, Shaw worked at Murphy O’Brien Public Relations and Rogers & Cowan. She is a graduate of the USC Annenberg School for Journalism and the USC School of Cinema-Television.
