The Super Bowl will once again be available to stream for free online this year, but Fox Sports will still put some of the biggest games of the football season behind pay-TV subscriber walls.

Using the TV Everywhere model, Fox is limiting access to NFC playoff games to subscribers of certain pay-TV partners. Fox Sports just announced that both the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic and the NFL’s 49ers at Packers wild card game will be live-streamed via its mobile app Fox Sports GO and FoxSportsGo.com.

Friday’s Cotton Bowl game, which pits No. 8 Missouri against No. 13 Oklahoma State, will begin with pregame coverage at 7:30 p.m. It’s the first time Fox is streaming a live broadcast event on its Fox Sports GO platform, which debuted in October.

CBS, however, plans on streaming its coverage of the AFC playoffs for free at CBSSports.com.

Super Bowl XLVIII will air on Fox on Feb. 2, and the game, including the Bruno Mars halftime show, will be streamed on the Fox Sports GO app and at FoxSportsGo.com.
