While the NBA remains out of play due to the pandemic, players such as the Milwaukee Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Indiana Pacers’ Malcolm Brogdon the Boston Celtics’ Jaylen Brown and the Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson took to the streets in support of Black Lives Matter and the NBA captured it on film for its new spot.

Over images of protest play the words: “The truth is racism is everywhere. The truth is silence is not an option. The truth is we need to do better. We will promote equality. We will push for change. Because the truth is Black Lives Matter.”

The spot is scored to Jac Ross’ “It’s OK to be Black.”

The NBA has made a commitment to Black representation and inclusion across the league, including adding more Black employees across all positions, working more closely with Black-owned businesses and creating a foundation that will work to expand educational and economic opportunities across Black communities.

Players also will be allowed to put social justice statements on their jerseys in coordination with official NBA apparel sponsor NIke.

The above spot dropped on ESPN last Friday during the NBA’s schedule release special. The NBA is looking to return to play July 31 in Orlando.
