Lifetime is keeping to its reimagined movie brand, continuing on with “Petals on the Wind,” a sequel to “Flowers in the Attic,” the book adaptation the network aired in January.
The first part of the book series by V.C. Andrews, “Flowers in the Attic” garnered more than 6 million viewers for Lifetime and the cabler is hoping to strike gold again with a Memorial Day premiere for part two. The new sequel takes place about 10 years after the first iteration, following up with how the kids coped with their strange experience and how their mother has slowly devolved since then.
While the first film was marketed as “the book you were forbidden to read,” the “Petals on the Wind” trailer (above) keeps a similar aesthetic while updating the story a bit, focusing on revenge. Poster art followed suit:
