Showtime on Thursday released the first-look at season five of its award-winning series, Homeland, starring Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin. The trailer also will run during the season three premieres of Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex on Sunday, July 12.

Season five picks up two years after Carrie Mathison’s (Danes) ill-fated stint as Islamabad station chief. Carrie is now living in Berlin, working as the head of security for a German philanthropist.

The series also is in production in Berlin, the first American series to shoot entirely in Germany.

Season five also stars Rupert Friend, F. Murray Abraham, Sebastian Koch, Miranda Otto, Alexander Fehling and Sarah Sokolovic.

Produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, Homeland was developed for American television by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, and is based on the original Israeli series Prisoners of War by Gideon Raff. Along with Gansa and Gordon, the executive producers for season five are Meredith Stiehm, Patrick Harbinson, Chip Johannessen, Alexander Cary, Lesli Linka Glatter, Gideon Raff, Avi Nir and Ran Telem.
