The series debut of Fear the Walking Dead, AMC’s sister series to its zombie hit The Walking Dead, made cable history.
Its premiere on Sunday, Aug. 23, garnered 10.1 million viewers, beating out AMC’s Better Call Saul to become cable’s highest-rated series premiere ever.
But AMC is not stopping there.
Live +3 ratings take Fear the Walking Dead’s ratings up to 13.3 million viewers, again beating out Better Call Saul, who claimed 9.8 million in delayed viewers.
AMC Global’s worldwide debut of Fear the Walking Dead was its highest-rated premiere ever, making AMC a top-ten network in key regional markets across Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The premiere quadrupled viewership among its Latin America audience and was a hit in Central European markets.
The series premiered simultaneously across AMC markets at 9 p.m. ET/PT with encore episodes during each market’s primetime, except for the U.K. where Fear the Walking Dead will debut at a later date.
The companion series has already been picked up for a second season on AMC, which will debut worldwide in 2016.
