Those wondering what’s next in the murderous saga between Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Eve (Sandra Oh) are in for good news: the series will return for its third season two weeks earlier than expected on Sunday, April 12, AMC Networks announced on Friday.

The news comes with the above spot, which sees assassin Villanelle mourning (or rejoicing?) over the presumed death of her would-be lover, Eve. That’s until she learns of Eve’s true whereabouts, which fans were clued in last month, on top of a shocking, personal death that revives their shared sense of fury—and passion—toward each other.

“We know how adored this series is and we know how keen people are for great content right now,” Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studios, said in a statement. “This season of Killing Eve digs deep psychologically, and with actors like Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw the results are nothing short of astonishing. We literally couldn’t wait for fans to see it.”

The series takes the slot of the new Walking Dead spinoff, World Beyond, which was pushed to an unknown date after the coronavirus pandemic forced production to halt. The series will air later this year once production resumes.
